Sierra Nevada filling 150 taproom-restaurant jobs

Sierra Nevada is hiring 150 staffers for the Taproom and Restaurant opening early next year.

"We're hoping to start getting people in later on this week," Bill Manley, the brewery's Mills River-based beer ambassador, said last week The company needs to fill "really any kind of job you'd expect to see in a restaurant — hosts and hostesses, busers, line cooks, prep cooks, supervisory positions — from top to bottom. There are so many positions open we could probably take some with little experience but obviously some with experience would be ranked higher."
Although many of the jobs are part-time, some are fulltime with benefits. For more information or to apply visit http://www.sierranevada.com/careers.
"In Chico, our Taproom and Restaurant is a centerpiece of the brewery," Manley added in an email. "We offer a wide variety of beer-friendly food focusing on local, seasonal and sustainable meat and produce. We source many of our ingredients from our organic estate garden at the brewery itself. Our Mills River restaurant will maintain much of the same philosophy and it too will have on-site gardens and a greenhouse supplying fresh organic ingredients. ... Among the positions we're eager to fill are an experienced pizza cook to work with our wood-fired oven and a bakery/pastry manager to oversee baked goods."
The restaurant will seat about 100 and is projected to be open in late January.
Tasting tours are now also under way. To reserve a tour, go to sierranevada.com.
