More than 500 participants declared the second annual Turkey Trot a success after finishing an early morning run ahead of a guilt-free Thanksgiving feast.
Sponsored by the city of Hendersonville, the 5K drew runners from as far west as California and Washington state, as far north as Maine and as far south as Jupiter, Fla.
The top male finisher was Jason Gibson of Columbia, S.C., who crossed the line in 18:45, in temperatures hovering around freezing. The top female finisher was Michelle Krueger of Jacksonville, Fla.
The winning costumes were worn by the Levinson family and the family with the most runners was the Flanagans, with 24 participants.
