State Sen. Tom Apodaca presented the Trailblazer Award to former state Rep. Carolyn Justus during the Henderson County Republican Party 2014 Convention on Saturday.
Bestowed by the Republican Women's Caucus of the General Assembly, the award "is for women in the Republican Party that have made a true difference," Apodaca said. "Nobody deserves this more. All the hard work by Carolyn and the other ladies in the General Assembly has really paid dividends for us all." Justus was appointed to the state House to fill the seat of her husband, Larry T. Justus, after his death in 2002. She served until 2010.
