City police, firefighters rescue ducklings

It was all in a day's work for a cop and two firefighters on Monday when they rescued two baby ducks from a storm drain.

The city of Hendersonville reported the rescue on Facebook. Details were somewhat scarce as far as location. Suffice it to say, the city's critters — and people — are in good hands when the police and fire squad can take the time to respond to feathered friends in distress. The Facebook report: "Thank you for assisting the animals. Hendersonville Police Officer Garrett Gardin, Hendersonville Fire Captain Tim Cagle, and Engineer Tony Bentley! Yesterday afternoon a concerned citizen placed a call about 2 baby ducklings trapped in a city storm drain. These gentlemen took time out of their busy day to rescue the ducklings and reunite them with the mother duck!" Click here for photos.
