After an investigation by federal agents and detectives with the violent crimes unit of the Henderson County Sheriff's Office, a Henderson County Grand Jury has issued bills of indictment charging a former Fletcher fire captain with five counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
Aaron John Lanning, 36, of 929 Hooper's Creek Road in Fletcher, turned himself in on Wednesday, after authorities notified him of the indictments. Lanning was indicted on five counts of third degree sexual exploitation of a minor for alleging soliciting a minor for sex via the Internet, said Cheriff's Maj. Frank Stout. Lanning was released on a $27,000 secured bond. His first appearance hearing is scheduled for Thursday at 9 a.m. in District Court of Henderson County.
