WEEKEND TIPOFF: Craft beer and horses, yoga and bicycles

Tryon Equestrian Center holds a craft beer festival and grand prix event on Saturday.

Here are this weekend's events in and around Hendersonville.

Tryon International Equestrian Center hosts “Festival of the Carolinas” craft beer event on Saturday with food buffets and a live band. Beer festival tickets are $50 in advance online or $55 at the door and include unlimited 4-ounce pours, a pig roast dinner buffet by Mountain View Barbecue, souvenir cup and private restroom facilities. The Equestrian Center also Grand Prix jumping events from 6 to 10 p.m., face painting, airbrush tattoos and rides on a hand painted Venetian carousel. Admission to TIEC and parking are free and open to the public.

Music On Main at 7 p.m. Friday at the Visitors Center features Emporium playing oldies and beach music plus a Corvette Car Show.

YAM presents YOGA on Main Street to support the Ecusta Trail from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Historic Courthouse. Sponsored by YAM and Sycamore Cycles to raise awareness and funds for the Ecusta Trail, the event features partner YOGA, free chair massages, acupuncture, face-painting and kids games. Beer and wine available at West First restaurant.

Monday Night Live! at 7 o’clock at the Visitors Center series features Pop the Clutch rock’n’roll and R&B.

Carl Sandburg Home and The Vagabond School of the Drama presents “The People’s Poet” based on Sandburg’s poetry Wednesday and Friday and “Rootabaga!” based on tales from Sandburg's children's stories on Thursday and Saturday. Shows are 10:15 a.m. at Carl Sandburg Home amphitheatre.

“How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” continues at the Flat Rock Playhouse.

“Arsenic & Old Lace” continues at Hendersonville Little Theatre.
