Council re-elects Freeman as mayor

The Mills River Town Board re-elected Larry Freeman as mayor and Shanon Gonce as mayor pro tem on Tuesday night.


The council had first elected Freeman in December 2013. Councilman Wayne Carland nominated Freeman as mayor. The votes for both were unanimous. Under the town code, the council and not the voters elect the mayor from among the five council members.
