Cooper to visit Asheville to honor craft beer

Gov. Roy Cooper will visit Highland Brewing Co. in Asheville on Thursday to proclaim April as NC Beer Month, marking the 7th anniversary of the N.C. Beer Month celebration.

Co-sponsored by the North Carolina Craft Brewers Guild and Visit North Carolina, NC Beer Month encourages residents and travelers alike to explore a wide range of special craft beer oriented events, showcasing the industry’s world-class products and hospitality. Cooper will join Highland Brewing president Leah Wong Ashburn and Rich Greene, executive director of the NC Craft Brewers Guild, to make the proclamation at 3 p.m. at the brewery, 12 Old Charlotte Highway in Asheville.
