John Boyd fund provides Vision scholarships

The John L. Boyd Scholarship fund has provided four half scholarships to participants in the 2012-2013 Vision Henderson County Leadership Program, the Henderson County Chamber of Commerce announce.

The Boyd Scholarship Fund was developed by the Vision Henderson County Alumni Association to help cover tuition costs for people who want to attend the Vision Henderson County Leadership Program but do not have the finances available to do so. It is named for the longtime facilitator of the Vision program, John Boyd.

The Vision Henderson County Alumni Association holds three yearly events to raise money for the scholarship. The Vision Henderson County Leadership Program's mission is to promote informed and committed civic volunteerism. Its programs are designed to help participants acquire both a fuller sense of the wide array of critical issues affecting Henderson County and the leadership skills necessary to motivate and engage others in collaborative efforts to resolve them.
