Flat Rock author Brad Swift says he felt compelled to write his 25th novel after the story idea kept him awake for many sleepless nights.
Swift wrote The Fringe Candidate to inspire citizens to stay hopeful during this election year. The book goes on sale on Valentine’s Day on Amazon.
The Fringe Candidate takes place in the fractured nation of Amberica and surrounds the presidential campaign of fringe candidate Angeline Tarkington, who seeks to replace the current autocratic leader and put the country back on an even keel. Transformation is a recurring theme as Angeline awakens the world to a new possibility in politics: honesty, integrity, and total transparency.
Swift says his goal with the entire Amberica series is bolder than just instilling hope in readers. “It’s to begin to bring the different factions of our country back together,” he said. “It’s to close the gap, the chasm that currently exists between conservatives and progressives.”
Swift sold a successful veterinary practice in the late 1980s to pursue a combination career as a writer and personal development coach. Since then he has written more than 20 books of fiction. He is best known for his visionary fiction novels that include Babble and the Zak Bates eco-adventure series for young people.
