Although most area cities have called off Independence Day fireworks displays this year, Henderson County is still hosting the annual pyrotechnic salute to America.

Sponsored by the Henderson County Tourism Development Authority, the city of Hendersonville and Carolina Ace Hardware, the show blasts off at 9:30 p.m. Saturday and is visible from the Historic Courthouse plaza and other around the intersection of Greenville and Spartanburg highways. A large red balloon will be launched the morning of the Fourth to signify where the fireworks will go off; if you can see the Big Red Balloon, you can see the fireworks. In keeping with social distancing guidelines there is no Music on Main Fourth of July concert. WTZQ AM-1600 and  95.3 FM will broadcast a patriotic soundtrack synchronized to the fireworks display.

The fireworks launch site is off of South Grove Street between Chadwick Avenue and East Caswell Street. The Henderson County Tourism Development Authority, with support of the Hendersonville Fire Department, conducted a test fire of the fireworks show the night of June 17.
