Radio personality to speak at Tea Party forum

SKYLAND — J.D. Hayworth, radio and television personality and former Arizona congressman, is scheduled to speak during the Asheville Tea PAC's non-partisan forum on Saturday, at the Skyland Fire Department. He is scheduled to arrive at noon.

The event is free.

Hayworth was elected to Congress during the Republican Revolution in 1994 and served until 2007.

Hayworth attended North Carolina State University on a football scholarship where he graduated cum laude with a double major in speech communication and political science. His leadership skills were apparent even then. He graduated as student body president.

A forum for the congressional candidates will begin at 11 a.m. and run until 1 p.m. and a forum for NC Senate 49 candidates will run from 2 to 4 p.m.
