Candidate forums set Oct. 9, 18

Three candidate forums have been set for Oct. 9 and Oct. 18.

Henderson County Retired School Personnel and Alpha Lambda Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International will sponsor a forum for School Board candidates at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, in the Henderson County School Office Auditorium on Fourth Avenue West.
Candidates may give a brief biographical statement and share their positions on education issues. The audience will have an opportunity to pose questions in written form to the candidates.
Also on Oct. 9, the Blue Ridge Tea Party Patriots will host a forum at 6:30 p.m. at Bay Breeze Restaurant on Asheville Highway. The Tea Party has invited School Board candidates to the forum.
The League of Women Voters and the Chamber of Commerce will co-sponsor a nonpartisan candidate forum 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Chamber, on Kanuga Road at Church Street. The forum is for School Board, state House District 113 and two judgeships in the Judicial District 29B.
