Led by Riley Adams and Caiden Brewer, the undefeated East Henderson High School Eagles pulled away in the second half and vanquished Central Cabarrus 64-41 on Tuesday night to advance to the second round of the state playoffs.

The No. 2 seed in the state 3-A tournament, the Eagles play in the second round in another home game at 7 Friday night. Because of its high seed, East could play three more home games if it continues to win.
