Downtown Hendersonville is staying open later.
Main Street businesses have volunteered to keep longer hours Friday and Saturday nights and to open 1-5 p.m. on Sunday to capitalize on "a growing evening vibrancy that is hard to miss," downtown advocates said in a news release.
"We have a strong sense that there are a ton of folks out there who want to take advantage of all our downtown has to offer after the more traditional hours typically offered and Weekends Alive agrees," said Lew Holloway, Main Street director.
Historic Downtown Hendersonville (Main St. Advisory Committee) and Weekends Alive partnered to develop a window decal promoting the later hours. The decal will be in the window of participating merchants starting May 4.The shops and restaurants plan to keep going with the later hours through Labor Day.
