At the conclusion of Mills River’s Town Council meeting, council member Richmond Meadows resigned from the board.
Originally elected in 2017, Meadows’ was a little more than two years into his four year term. Town Council will appoint a Mills River resident to fill this vacancy. The selected appointee will serve the remainder of Meadows’ term, until the next municipal election in 2021.
Next Thursday, March 19, at 6:30 pm, Town Council will meet in special meeting, which is open to the public, to discuss the procedure for filling this vacancy. An appointment will be made after a public application and review process is completed. This process is expected to take approximately 30 to 60 days. Interested parties must reside within District 2 of Mills River’s Town Council Districts.
