Mills River council member resigns

Richmond Meadows, who was elected in 2017, resigned from the Mills River Town Board on Thursday.

At the conclusion of Mills River’s Town Council meeting, council member Richmond Meadows resigned from the board.

Originally elected in 2017, Meadows’ was a little more than two years into his four year term. Town Council will appoint a Mills River resident to fill this vacancy. The selected appointee will serve the remainder of Meadows’ term, until the next municipal election in 2021.
Next Thursday, March 19, at 6:30 pm, Town Council will meet in special meeting, which is open to the public, to discuss the procedure for filling this vacancy. An appointment will be made after a public application and review process is completed. This process is expected to take approximately 30 to 60 days. Interested parties must reside within District 2 of Mills River’s Town Council Districts.
