This week will be sunny and dry

Alex Staarmann is a volunteer at the National Weather Service in Greer, S.C. but even an amateur weather expert can make the call for this week's weather: Sunny and dry.
"We're supposed to remain pretty dry and cool through probably Friday to Saturday," said Staarmann, who lives in Greenville, S.C. "It should be dry, with no precipitation, highs in the upper 70s in the mountains."
The forecast calls for the nicest weather since Fourth of July weekend. After a high today around 81, the cold front cruising over the mountains from the Ohio Valley will bring highs Tuesday through Friday in the lower to mid 70s. The thermometer will tick up from a high of 73 on Tuesday to 76 on Thursday but even by Sunday, when a chance of showers returns, the highs won't get out of the 70s, the National Weather Service says.
The rain chance is hovering around 20 to 30 percent but the forecast calls for sunny or mostly sunny days and lower humidity through Friday. Lows will be in the mid to upper 50s, the NWS says.
