Henderson County sheriff's deputies charged a 41-year-old Edneyville man with possession of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm after responding to a call about a suspicious vehicle parked behind a building on South Allen Road on Thursday.
Shortly before noon, a caller told the sheriff's office that the driver of the vehicle had a domestic violence protective order against him taken out by a party in a nearby building. When he responded to the call, a deputy found that the driver, Radames Caquias Hodges, had in his vehicle a loaded AR semiautomatic shotgun, a machete and methamphetamine, the sheriff's office said. Hodges also was in fact in violation of a domestic violence protective order and in violation by being in possession of a firearm. One of the suites in the building near where Hodges was arrested was an occupied Childcare/Pre-Kindergarten facility.
Hodges was charged with a domestic violence protective order violation, a misdemeanor, and possession of a firearm in violation of a domestic violence protective order and possession of methamphetamine, both felonies. He was jailed in the Henderson County Detention Facility under a $77,000 bond.
