Festival announces King Apple Parade grand marshal

The North Carolina Apple Festival announced Tuesday that it had selected City Manager John Connet as the grand marshal of the festivcal-ending King Apple Parade on Labor Day.

Connet served as Apple Festival president last year during the Covid crisis. The festival leadership also announced that will devote a section of the parade to honor our local community heroes who served the town during the pandemic.

Applications are still available for various categories including commercial and non-profit entries. The festival has professional floats available for lease again this year. If you are interested in a professional float, please contact the office 828-697-455. For information on how to participate in the parade visit ncapplefestival.org under the Parade tab. The cutoff date for entries is Aug. 27.
