Pardee, Southeastern Sports Med providing physicals

Pardee UNC Health Care and Southeastern Sports Medicine and Orthopedics will once again administer sports physicals for local student-athletes who attend 22 middle and high schools in the area, Pardee announced last week.

All physicals will take place starting Wednesday and running through June 1 in middle or high school gymnasiums. In order to play school sports, all student-athletes are required by state law to receive an annual physical each academic year for health and safety reasons.
Pardee UNC Health Care has provided the sports physicals for many years, with support from Southeastern Sports Medicine and Orthopedics, Pardee Sports Medicine and providers from the Pardee Primary Care network and Urgent Care locations. Sports physicals are an important step in preparation for the 2022-2023 academic year.
Registration forms for the athletes’ physicals are available from respective team coaches or school front offices. Each student-athlete who plans on receiving a sports physical on the scheduled day must bring a completed registration form with the parent's signature. The cost per child varies depending on each school administration, and parents will be informed via the schools’ respective websites, newsletters or by email. Each physical will be administered by a certified health provider, and schools will ensure there is privacy for students during each physical exam. Apple Valley Middle School: Monday, May 23 after school until 5 p.m. at the North Henderson High gym (35 Fruitland Rd in Hendersonville)
