Election's over. Pull your campaign signs.

It's time to remove campaign signs.

Henderson County Environmental Programs and Parks and Recreation are partnering to provide campaign sign recycling dropoff in the Jackson Park House parking lot through Thursday, May 26.

There are two dumpsters to separate the campaign signs from the metal stakes. All metal stakes are accepted but please only drop off corrugated plastic signs. Candidates may pick up their signs at any time and please only recycle the political signs that you have permission to collect. For more information, call 828-694-5003.

Under state law "any political sign remaining in the right-of-way of the state highway system more than 30 days after the end of the (election) shall be deemed unlawfully placed and abandoned property, and a person may remove and dispose of such political sign without penalty."
