County to break ground on inclusive playground Saturday

Henderson County's inclusive playground is about to get under way.

The county Board of Commissioners will host a groundbreaking at noon Saturday at Jackson Park for the playground designed for kids of all ages and abilities. Inclusive play features ensure that children of all ages with varying developmental needs can play together.

This project is a collaboration between the Henderson County Board of Commissioners, Henderson County Tourism Development Authority, Pardee UNC Health, the Community Foundation, local businesses and privately raised funds.  The support of the community at large has helped to make this project possible.

The project is expected to be completed by the spring of 2023 with a ribbon cutting to be held as part of the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Jackson Park.
