Eschewing superstition, Hendersonville police officers will be on top of the world — or at least atop the Highlands Square Chick-fil-A — on Friday the 13th to raise money for the Henderson County Special Olympics.
The officers will take their posts 8 a.m.-6 p.m. on May 13 and invite the community to drive through and drop off donations. The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Donations received at the Rooftop Cops event will help ensure the athletes who participate in Special Olympics have the funds they need. For questions about the event, contact Sgt. Gardin with the Hendersonville Police Department at ggardin@hvlnc.gov.
