The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Henderson County from 7 o'clock tonight until midnight Sunday night and warned of the possibility of 1-4 inches of snow and high winds.
Mixed precipitation is expected. "Total snow accumulations of up to 4 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze" are possible, the advisory said. "Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. Travel could be very difficult. Gusty winds could combine with the wintry precipitation to knock down some trees and power lines."
The forecast called for a 30 percent chance of rain today, mainly after 4 p.m. under cloudy skies with a high near 49. Chance of precipitation increases to 90 percent Saturday night.
On Sunday there is a chance of rain and snow possibly mixed with sleet, before 1 p.m., then rain likely, possibly mixed with sleet between 1 and 2 p.m., then rain likely after 2 p.m. with a high near 39. Winds could gust as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent.
There's a 30 percent chance of rain on Sunday night mainly before 8. Monday should be mostly sunny, with a high near 56, the NWS said.
