Foam recycling day returns on March 14

Henderson County's monthly foam collection day returns 7 .m.-4 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, at the county recycling center on Stoney Mountain Road.

Accepted materials are clean and dry food packaging, clamshell takeout containers, egg cartons, plates, coolers and rigid packing materials from electronics, appliances, furniture and other merchandise. A foam densifier, a piece of equipment few counties have, reduces the material's mass in a 90 to 1 ratio. The county hosts foam collection days for county residents on the second Tuesday of each month.
