Friday is deadline for 63 Community Foundation scholarships

The deadline for submitting applications for the Community Foundation of Henderson County's scholarships for the 2013-2014 academic year is on or before 5 p.m., Friday, March 1.

The Community Foundation is seeking applicants for 63 scholarships. Students may review scholarship descriptions and pick up scholarship applications in the guidance offices of the local public and private high schools, by visiting the Community Foundation website at www.CFHCforever.org or by stopping by the Community Foundation office at 401 N. Main St., Suite 301 in downtown Hendersonville.

Scholarships are open to students pursuing community college, college or university degrees. Scholarships are primarily for students who are graduating or have graduated from high schools within Henderson County and include home school and private school graduates.

Criteria for the scholarships vary. The scholarships range in award amounts and generally are categorized by financial need, academics, affiliation and field of study or place of study. Interviews are conducted by a volunteer scholarship committee and will begin in April.
