County Commission candidates to face off at GOP Men's Club forums

Candidates vying for the Republican nomination for two seats on the Henderson County Board of Commissioners are scheduled to appear at two campaign forums in the coming weeks.

Commissioner Daniel Andreotta and challenger Sheila Franklin, a Fletcher Town Council member, will appear at the Henderson County Republican Men’s Club meeting at 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at the American Legion Post 77, 216 Fourth Avenue West. Democrat Erik Weber has also filed for the District 2 seat. Incumbent David Hill and challenger Jay Egolf, chair of the Henderson County School Board, also meet in the March 5 primary for the District 5 seat. Hill and Egolf are scheduled to appear at the club’s Feb. 10 meeting.

Members of the Republican Men’s Club will have the opportunity to pose questions to the candidates.

The club meets on the second Saturday of the month at the American Legion post. A breakfast buffet ($10 at the door) includes eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy, waffles, fruit and coffee. Reservations are required. To reserve a seat email noirs@aol.com or call 828-329-4971.
