The suspect in a nonfatal shooting Monday afternoon in Green Meadows turned himself into Hendersonville police today and was charged with two felonies.
Police were dispatched to 711 Woodcock Drive at 4 p.m. after callers reported that a man had been shot.
Within minutes, the shooting victim arrived at Pardee Hospital with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. The investigation revealed that the victim and the suspect were engaged in a physical altercation over money resulting in the shooting. Both individuals fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival. The victim was treated at the hospital for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
The suspect, Ronald Winslow Mackey Jr., 44, of Hendersonville, was charged on Tuesday with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
