Pardee announces Teammates of the Month

Kerry Jones and Sharon Maxwell were honored as Pardee Teammates of the Month.

Kerry Jones, an administrative assistant, and Sharon Maxwell, a cafeteria server, have been named Teammates of the Month, UNC Health Pardee announced last week.

In her role with volunteer services and spiritual care, Jones has a variety of responsibilities including creating on-call schedules for chaplains, fielding calls from prospective volunteers, and notarizing an Advance Directive for a patient.

“So much of my job is about relationships,” she said. “To be a part of something that makes a difference in people’s lives every day is rewarding beyond measure.”

Colleagues described Jones as a team player who goes above and beyond what’s expected of her.

“She gets great joy in being a behind-the-scenes helper, setting others up for success,” a coworker said. “She is gifted in making and maintaining connections that support and enhance everything we do as an organization.” 

Coworkers described Maxwell as professional, kind, hardworking and always willing to lend a hand.

“Recently, I was delayed getting to the cafeteria and they were serving Caesar salad," she said. "I requested one but Sharon said she was out of lettuce." Undeterred, Sharon then took the initiative to use ingredients from the salad bar to create a specially made order. “She was so kind and went out of her way for the customer. It was truly above and beyond.”
