Sarah Cosgrove, an area leader on housing issues, has joined the Builders Association of the Blue Ridge Mountains as advocacy and community engagement director.
In the new role, Cosgrove will work with builders, area governments and like-minded professionals and nonprofit organizations to facilitate projects that address Western North Carolina’s housing crisis. This will involve everything from working with local governments on zoning rule changes to deepening relationships with nonprofits that address affordability and sustainability.
Cosgrove previously served as chair of BABRM’s government relations committee and currently serves on Hendersonville’s Affordable Housing Steering Committee, which is exploring ways to address the city’s affordability challenges.
“We are thrilled to have Sarah join us,” said Megan Carroll, BABRM’s executive officer. “Her deep knowledge of the building industry and relationships in our area will be keys to success as we work to make a positive impact in Western North Carolina.”
Prior to joining the Builders Association, Cosgrove ran day-to-day operations as co-owner of Grove Manor Flooring in Flat Rock.
“I look forward to helping the Builders Association in its important work,” Cosgrove said. “We can only address our area’s challenges and capitalize on opportunities if we work together, and this role is built around that concept.”
Serving Buncombe, Henderson, Transylvania and Madison counties, the Builders Association of the Blue Ridge Mountains is dedicated to protecting and promoting the local housing industry and those who work in the building industry.
