Team visits this week to explain program that buys out, raises or moves homes

A state hazard mitigation team will be in Henderson County this week to help homeowners complete hazard mitigation grant applications. The team members will be at the Disaster Recovery Center, 2111 Asheville Highway, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 3-5. 

The Hazard Mitigation Grant Program pays to elevate or move eligible homes in flood zones or for property buyouts for eligible homeowners. Visit www.NCDPS.gov/HM to watch an 8-minute video about how the program works.
