State team visits next week to explain program that elevates or moves homes

A state hazard mitigation team will be in Henderson County next week to assist homeowners with completing hazard mitigation grant applications. The team members will be at the Disaster Recovery Center, 2111 Asheville Highway, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 3-5. 

The Hazard Mitigation Grant Program pays to elevate or move eligible homes in flood zones or for property buyouts for eligible homeowners. Visit www.NCDPS.gov/HM for an 8-minute video about the funding opportunity.
