Donald Garrett Jr.
A 33-year-old Mountain Home man faces two counts of attempted first-degree murder after Henderson County sheriff’s deputies responding to a domestic violence call found two family members suffering from life-threatening stab wounds.
When they reached the residence in Mountain Home, officers observed through a window a significant amount of blood on the floor and a male subject, later identified as Donald Garrett Jr., walking through the house, also covered in blood. Recognizing the severity of the situation, officers made forced entry into the home.
Deputies immediately detained Garrett and began providing critical life-saving measures to the victims while awaiting EMS. The officers’ bravery, quick decision-making, and immediate response were instrumental in stabilizing the victims and ensuring their care until emergency medical personnel arrived, the sheriff’s office said.
In addition to the attempted murder charges, Garrett Jr. is charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. He was jailed on a $750,000 bond.
