NCDOT reopens I-40

The NCDOT reopened I-40 Thursday evening after crews made repairs to prevent rockfalls.

Crews scaled a rock wall between the 7 and 8 mile marker on I-40 in Haywood County to remove some sizable rocks that could become a threat to the traveling public. The work shut down all lanes of I-40 from exit 20 to exit 451 in Tennessee, which is about a mile west of the North Carolina border.
