Blue Ridge Community College has added associate degree programs in careers in demand— advanced manufacturing, banking and criminal justice.
The new degree programs include Mechatronics Engineering Technology, Business Administration/Banking and Finance and Criminal Justice/Latent Evidence.
The College has also added new certificate programs in business, mechanical engineering technology, simulation and game development, and web technologies. Certificate programs provide skills for entry-level jobs and can usually be completed in 6 to 9 months. The established Collision Repair and Refinishing Program will expand its current offerings with the option of completing its certificate program in the evening. An evening welding program has also been added in Transylvania County.
In addition, BRCC has partnered with Wingate University School of Pharmacy to offer a new Associate of Science/Pre-Pharmacy Pathway program. The program will allow students to earn an A.S. degree from BRCC while simultaneously earning the prerequisite courses for the Wingate University School of Pharmacy, which is located in Hendersonville.
Also new for the fall, is a full array of continuing education courses in alternative transportation which includes training in EV, CNG, biofuels, and diesel.
Students should apply early to ensure aid is processed and in place for the fall semester, which begins Aug. 15.
Fall enrollment for the new academic and training programs as well as BRCC's other offerings, is ongoing through Aug. 9.
