HORSE SHOE — Texas Rangers and police officers arrested two people wanted in the shotgun shooting of a man in Horse Shoe over the weekend.
Officers with the Texas Department of Public Safety (Texas Rangers) and Haskell Texas Police Department apprehended Juan “Johnny” Sanchez and Holly Chevon Clark in Haskell at 10:35 a.m. on Tuesday. A joint investigation between the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, Criminal Investigations Division, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, Hendersonville Police Department, and the U.S. Justice Department, ATF, determined the two had fled the state. Sanchez and Clark were taken into custody without incident.
Sanchez is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury in the shooting of Trent Travers at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Saturday. Holly Clark is charged with accessory after the fact. The victim was immediately flown to Mission Hospital in Asheville where he is currently listed as stable but critical condition. The investigation continues and further charges are possible.
