EDNEYVILLE — Sheriff’s deputies charged a 37-year-old Asheville man with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill after he allegedly doused a man with gasoline and set him on fire.
Deputies responded to a call at 4:45 p.m. Saturday at 58 Stepp Acres Lane in Edneyville from someone who reported two men fighting. Charged was Joseph Charles Wolff III, of 60 McKinney Drive, Asheville.
The victim, Ronnie Dills, was taken by ambulance to Mission Hospital and then transported to Wake Forest Medical Center for the treatment of burns sustained in the assault. There is no word on his condition at this time.
