McGrady pledge nudges IAM close to capital goal

Interfaith Assistance Ministry hopes to move into its new facility in July.

Interfaith Assistance Ministry is on the last leg of its $2.6 million capital campaign for its new facility, thanks to a matching grant pledge from state Rep. Chuck McGrady.

McGrady offered to donate $33,000, half the $66,000 needed to reach the goal, to encourage others to contribute. McGrady and his family have been long-time supporters of IAM's "hand up" approach to helping people in need and, along with his family, generous donors to the New Building Fund.

"Starting years ago with Dr. Kay McGrady, and more recently with Chuck and his family, we have been blessed to have their faithful support for our ministry," IAM Director David Cook said. "This matching gift challenge will help us reach our goal of moving into the new building debt free, allowing us to concentrate all our efforts on serving Henderson County families in financial crisis."

IAM expects to move into the new building, located at 310 Freeman Street off of Four Season's Blvd., in July.

To donate to the Building Fund, send a check with "CC Match" written in the memo line to IAM, P.O. Box 2562, Hendersonville, NC 28793 or log onto www. iam-hc.org and use the drop-down menu on the donation page to indicate the donation is for the building. Donations received from May 10 on will be matched until the goal is reached. For more information, call 697-7029.
