Two Pardee physicians named 'Best Doctors'

Dr. Chris Parsons and Dr. James Radford were named to 'Best Doctors' list.

Infectious disease specialist Chris Parsons and oncologist James M. Radford have been named among the Best Doctors in America for 2018-2019, Pardee UNC Health Care announced.

The highly regarded Best Doctors in America List is assembled by Best Doctors, Inc. and results from exhaustive polling of close to 40,000 physicians in the United States. The prestigious recognition marks the third and ninth times, respectively, that Parsons and Radford have earned the honor.
Parsons is the medical director of the Pardee Center for Infectious Diseases and is board-certified in infectious disease. Over a 14-year career in academic medicine focused on patient care, clinical education and research in infectious diseases, Dr. Parsons achieved the rank of Professor of Medicine while earning more than $10 million in external funding for clinical trials and original research from the National Institutes of Health and other sources.
Radford, an oncologist at the Pardee Cancer Center, is board-certified in both internal medicine and medical oncology. Radford notes that he became an oncologist for two reasons. First, his mother was diagnosed and treated for breast cancer during his second year in college. Secondly, Dr. Radford says he feared boredom and sought a career that offered a variety of learning opportunities and challenges.
