Registration is open for Turkey Trot 5K

Before packing in the Thanksgiving feast, residents are invited to hoof it during the 12th annual Turkey Trot 5K in downtown Hendersonville.

Whether you’re a seasoned runner, casual walker or just in it for the costumes, the city-sponsored all-ages event is open to everyone. 

The race kicks off at 8:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28, at City Hall on Fifth Avenue East at King Street. The running route goes through charming downtown Hendersonville and makes a loop to end back at City Hall. The trot goes on, rain, shine or snow.esday

Registration is $15 and includes a long-sleeved T-shirt. Race packets can be picked up 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, and Wednesday, Nov. 27. Unclaimed packets will be redistributed by 9 a.m. on race day. The Turkey Trot awards prizes for farthest traveled, first male, first female and a mystery time prize.
