'Chef Showcase' on WTZQ will highlight restaurants

Hendersonville radio station WTZQ AM-1600 is highlighting area restaurants with a new on-air segment called "Chef Showcase."

The segment, airing Wednesday mornings at 9:30, is co-hosted by WTZQ program director George Henry and chef Cathy Horton, a WTZQ staff member and an instructor in the culinary department at AB Tech in Asheville. Chefs from area restaurants will join George and chef Cathy live in the studio every week with menu items to highlight and discuss and listeners are rewarded with the opportunity to call in to win gift certificates to participating restaurants.

"I've written many restaurant reviews for local papers and magazines... I love to talk about cooking and this new segment on WTZQ is a great way to introduce WNC restaurants and chefs to Henderson County residents in a more personal way," Horton said.
