Tomatoes starred in the annual celebration at the Henderson County Tailgate Market at 105 N. King St.
Farmers also sold flowers, cucumbers, peppers, onions, sourdough bread, herbs, organic produce and more.
"The tailgate market is one of the best sources of fresh produce in town," said the Rev. Bill Campbell, who was shopping with his wife, Lin. "We're especially grateful that they give organic options."
Rebecca Balson and Willow Jarvis were busy making tomato sandwiches on whole or white bread with Duke's mayonnaise.
The market is open 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.
