Smith named to Tourism Development Authority

Kim Smith, guest services manager at Highland Lake Inn, was appointed to the new Henderson County Tourism Development Authority.The authority is to take effect Sept. 1.

As a valued member of the Highland Lake Inn management team, Smith has been a strong proponent for tourism in the county utilizing many different marketing venues and strong local partnerships with other tourism entities such as the former Travel and Tourism board, the Flat Rock Playhouse and the Carl Sandburg Home.

Smith will serve as one of nine members on the Henderson County Tourism Development Authority, with an initial five-year term. With her she will bring a unique perspective as it relates to tourism in the county as Highland Lake Inn is host to, not only lodging facilities, but weddings, banquets, family reunions, and corporate meetings. Highland Lake Inn is also home to its on-site restaurant, Season's, which is open to the public as well as lodging guests.
