Local man gets nine years in prison on burglary charges

A Hendersonville man was sentenced to almost nine years in prison after pleading guilty to burglary and habitual offender charges during a term of Superior Court Jan. 11-22, District Attorney Greg Newman announced.
Cases decided included:
- Tyson L. Gordon, of 159 N. Honeysuckle Drive, pleaded guilty to break and/or entering, larceny after b&e and habitual felon. Gordon was sentenced to 105 months active time.
- Montana Flecker, of 451 Old Pole Bridge Road, Horse Shoe, pleaded guilty to 17 charges of breaking or entering into a motor vehicle, three charges of larceny of firearm, two charges of breaking and/or entering, thre charges of obtain property false pretense, possession of stolen goods, attempted b&e into a dwelling and attempt to obtain property false pretense. Flecker was sentenced to 50 days confinement, 24 months of probation, 80 hours of community service within 12 months, and ordered to have no contact with victims or co-defendants.
- Edie Buckner, of 3290 Asheville Highway, pleaded guilty to possession to distribute methamphetamine, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for drugs, conspire to sell methamphetamine, possess drug paraphernalia, possess marijuana paraphernalia and possess marijuana. Buckner was sentenced to 24 months supervised probation for maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for drug sales and 15 months active on all other charges.
- Kevin L. Mathis, of 2113 N. Stoney View Court, pleaded guilty to possessing drug paraphernalia. Mathis was sentenced to 1 day confinement.
- Nigel L. Smith, of 34 Laurel Hill Circle, Candler, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, fleeing to elude, possess stolen motor vehicle and larceny of a motor vehicle. Smith was sentenced to 30 months active.
- Corey Miller, of Whitmire Road, Rosman, pleaded guilty to habitual misdemeanor assault. Miller was sentenced to 26 months active time.
- Mark Rushton, of 228 Oak Dale Street, Brevard, pleaded guilty to assault inflicting serious injury. Rushton was sentenced to 75 days confinement.
- Travis Swangim, of 26 Black Berry Trail, Pisgah Forest, NC pleaded guilty to indecent liberties with a child. Swangim was sentenced to 81 months active.
