City planners will host a neighborhood compatibility meeting at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 22, on a hotelier's rezoning request to allow a four-story hotel on Sugarloaf Road, which is already the home of a Best Western, Hampton Inn, Ramada Inn and Cascades Mountain Resort.
Sanjay Patel of Greensboro-based Sugarloaf Hospitality LLC is seeking a rezoning of 2.3 acres from Planned Commercial Development to Planned Commercial Development Conditional Zoning District for the construction of the hotel with meeting room. The vacant commercial land, which last sold in June 2016 for $655,000, is valued on the tax rolls at $651,200.
The public meeting, which allows the developer to present plans and neighbors and others to ask questions, will be held at the City Operations Center, 305 Williams St.
