Rosebud Lane, a feature film that shot locally in Brevard and Hendersonville, will screen at the Co-ed Cinema on Main Street in Brevard on Thursday, April 21, with showings at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Writer/director John Lacy, cast and crew, Tammy Hopkins with FilmBrevardNC and Mike Moore & Kyzandrha Zarate with Gypsy & Me will be on the red carpet in front of the Co-ed Cinema before each showing. A Q&A with the director will follow each screening.
Rosebud Lane is about a Hollywood filmmaker who connects with his estranged young son and the result leaves a small mountain town shattered.

The writer/director John Lacy is a 35-year Hollywood veteran with nearly 100 film/tv credits. His Lacy Group Acting Studio presently trains and mentors passionate actors, young and old, to pursue and sustain careers in the film and TV industry. His new film, ‘Rosebud Lane,’ just premiered in the Golden State Film Festival at the world-famous Chinese Theatre where it went on to win the “Grand Prize Best Feature Film.” John dedicated ‘Rosebud Lane’ to his late grandmother, Virginia Hammack, a long-time resident of Hendersonville, North Carolina.
The film stars Tyne Stecklein (Dancing with the Stars), Brad Abrell (whose family lives in Hendersonville) (Men in Black), Tess Harper (Tender Mercies & No Country for Old Men), and Brevard’s Bronson Leder. Local crew included: Tamara Hopkins – Producer, David & Sarah Fesiuk with Fesiuk Films – Director of Photography, M.J. Tutzauer- Production Design and Art Department, Daisy Talley - Props Master, Music by Mike Moore – performances by Gypsy & Me, Evan Schmidt – 1st AD, Jennifer Yates – Makeup Department, Craig Mauldin – Sound, Yury Fesiuk – Gaffer, Associate Producer Melanie Miller, Jack Bennett – Dog Wrangler, and Brandon Hendrix, Bode Kicklighter, Bella LaRose and Renee Danger served as Production Assistants. More than 100+ local extras were used in the film.
Local locations featured in the film include Creekside Subs, Sunset Motel, Wine Down on Main, Co-ed Cinema, 185 King Street, Dolly’s Ice Cream, The Poe House, downtown Main Street in Hendersonville, and private homes and farms in Henderson and Transylvania County. The next film festival that Rosebud Lane will screen at is River Run International Film Festival in Winston Salem on April 26. River Run Film Festival started in Brevard before it was sold to the NC School of the Arts in Winston Salem.
