The Barrett Davis Duo will perform from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 25, at the Visitor Center at milepost 384 on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Asheville.
The outdoor concert is one in a series of free Milepost Music sessions offered throughout the summer at popular sites in the national park.
Davis, a singer-songwriter and guitarist, was born into the mecca of traditional Appalachian folk music, tucked in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. His 2022 release, "The Ballad of Aesop Fin," is a kaleidoscope of traditional sounds that traverse the musical lineage of the mountains in old-time, early country, folk, and bluegrass.
Guests are invited to bring camping chairs or blankets to sit and enjoy the live music.
This concert is supported by a donation in honor of Betsy Mills Levitas in recognition of her lifelong love of the mountains and her abiding passion for heritage music.
Milepost Music concerts showcase regional musicians playing traditional music at Humpback Rocks, Peaks of Otter, Mabry Mill, Doughton Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway Visitor Center on rotating Sunday afternoons. The programs are a collaboration between the Blue Ridge Music Center, Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation, and National Park Service.
