Polk Foundation grant supports Saluda's 'Night at the Museum'

SALUDA — The Saluda Historic Depot and Museum has been awarded a Polk County Community Foundation grant to fund the third annual Night at the Museum.

The purpose of the event is to help fulfill the mission of the Saluda Historic Depot and Museum to unite the citizens of Saluda in the preservation and operation of the historic Saluda train depot as a heritage museum emphasizing the significance and contribution of the railroad, the Saluda Grade and the history of the town of Saluda.

The grant will underwrite the free Night at the Museum event, which will be held in October, funding costumes, food and music. Area citizens are invited to attend and view the reenactment of our town’s history. Saluda Historic Depot and Museum board members expressed gratitude to the Polk County Community Foundation for its support.

The Saluda Historic Depot is open noon-4 p.m.  Thursday through Saturday from 12-4 and Sunday from 1-4. Admission is free.
