County invites public to preconstruction celebration of new sportsplex

Henderson County leaders, youth soccer supporters and others will join a pre-construction celebration of the new sports complex at Berkeley Mills Park at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18.

The Berkeley Park Sports Complex will become a premier destination for sports and recreation, enhancing community wellness and providing opportunities for all to engage in healthy, active lifestyles. Funded by American Rescue Plan money, the project must be under contract by Dec. 31. Plans call for three regulation soccer fields and one youth-size field plus, when money becomes available, a softball field for high school varsity women's teams and tennis courts.
