Fletcher police seek suspect in rental car
A Mazda like the one police are looking for and the rental car tag.
FLETCHER — Fletcher police officers responding to a call to a motel near the I-26 Asheville Airport interchange on Friday afternoon found a female victim who had a gunshot wound to her legs. She was transported to an area hospital by Henderson County EMS for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
A caller had reported a shooting at the Budget Motel on Underwood Road.
No arrests have been made and the incident is currently under investigation. Police are asking for assistance in locating a rented 2019 silver Mazda CX5 displaying a Tennessee registration plate of 9N42P6. The vehicle was seen leaving the parking lot after the incident and may be in the Asheville area.
