Apple Festival names parade grand marshal (4)

The 73rd North Carolina Apple Festival has named a grand marshal for the King Apple Parade, which culminates the four-day celebration at 2:30 p.m. on Labor Day.
The Apple Festival Board of Directors announced on Monday that this year's Grand Marshal is retired schoolteacher, School Board member and local historian Tom Orr. Orr is being recognized for his many years of service to the community.
Organizers also invite the community to participate in this year’s King Apple Parade. The festival has professional floats available for lease again this year. If you are interested in a professional float, please contact the office. Applications to participate in the Parade are available at www.ncapplefestival.org under the Parade tab.
